Re: At last a Crawling Claw Post by Topaz » October 26th, , pm Ive been way over the solves, got 4 of the rares and even recipe for vial of the sand. I still need to put more time in archy though. Grats on the Claw and welcome to the club! And it was a complete surprise to me too. I was like 'what's this monkey paw thing?
Another useless toy?! I'd already caved and bought the pet by then though. Re: At last a Crawling Claw Post by Ranok » October 27th, , am Did some calculations, figured that number of hours farming gold to buy a Claw off the AH was far, far less than the insane number of average hours to get one with Archaeology. Also lot less cursing. To everyone who has the C. I probably would have bought it if I thought I had any reasonable chance of seeing it on my home AH but was on a low pop RP server so that wasn't going to happen. I have no idea how many solves it took but I should be able to check because I haven't done any Archeology since.
Re: At last a Crawling Claw Post by Jazeel » October 28th, , pm I have no idea how many solves it took me to get the claw as that was back in cata and i think my mind has blanked out the awful memories of flying endlessly all day from one digsite to another.
Maybe the dupers will dump these on AH one day and kill the price of them. I found it to be the worst pet to attain in terms of monotony, even whelpling farming can drop world epics and old transmog usable recipes, but once you have the other tol'vir rares the gold is little compensation against the boredom.
I hope the WoD archy pets dont turn out to be as boring to farm, especially a we are gonna have to ride to all the digsites from the nearest FP and not fly over mobs. That pet is the biggest pain in the game to get IMHO.

In order to do this, I have to dig sites in Pandaria, collect and then solve Pandarian, Mogu, and Mantid items, then double-click the item to crate it, then use it to buy crates of Tol'vir pieces from the Dwarf in Mogu'Shan Palace.
Then I open each crate and let the pieces pile up until I have enough to solve a Tol'vir artifact. Eventually, I assume, the Claw will pop up as the next Tol'vir artifact to solve. Then I will have to collect enough Tol'vir pieces to solve it ? In an attempt to prevent his own death, the djinn tried to transfer his spirit into the body of a monkey.
He was slain right in the middle of the transference, and only a fraction of his essence had moved over - only enough to possess the monkey's paw. This is the only epic -quality companion pet obtained with archaeology and being Bind to Account. Unlike other BtA pets, it is consumed when learned. Djinns, being air elementals , can only be permanently killed while in the Elemental Plane in this case Skywall.
Death in the mortal plane only sends them to the Elemental Plane. If it actually was a djinn as the legend says, perhaps he had some sort of time constraint that he could not afford the delay in returning to Azeroth , and thus trying a transfer was worth the effort. Of course, this is dependent on whether an elemental could actually do such a thing, or that it would really work. Wowpedia Explore. Main Page All Pages.
